Salvetica: A Charming Script Font for Modern Branding Projects
Design Observations: Where Salvetica Shines
- It works best as a headline or accent font. I wouldn’t recommend it for long-form body text, but it’s perfect for short, impactful phrases.
- The font has a warm, approachable personality. It’s not overly formal, which makes it ideal for lifestyle brands, wellness spaces, and small creative businesses.
- Its character set includes a variety of ligatures and alternates, which allowed me to customize the look for different applications without repeating the same glyph shapes.
- It pairs beautifully with both serif and sans serif fonts. For this project, I used it with a light serif for subheadings and a modern sans for body copy.
Practical Tips for Using Salvetica in Client Work
- Test it in context. Try it on different materials—digital, print, packaging, signage. See how it holds up in various sizes and colors.
- Pair it thoughtfully. Don’t be afraid to combine it with more structured typefaces. This contrast will help the brand feel balanced and intentional.
- Use it for short-form text. It’s best suited for headlines, logos, quotes, and accents—not long paragraphs.
- Check the file formats and licensing. If you’re using it for commercial work, make sure the font includes web and print licenses, and that it’s available in the formats you need (OTF, TTF, etc.).
